Job Description:

You will serve as a ADMINISTRATIVE/TECHNICAL SPECIALIST in the SECURITY POLICY & PROGRAMS DEPARTMENT of NAVAL SURFACE WARFARE CENTER.
Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience equivalent to the next lower grade level NT-04 (GS-11/12 equivalent) or pay band in the federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector coordinating industrial or personnel security procedures and practices to initiate background investigations and monitor the handling of sensitive materials in compliance with security guidelines and regulations. You will be responsible for managing a team performing critical industrial and personnel security functions, ensuring strict adherence to all applicable regulations and policies.
You will provide guidance, training and mentorship to team members regarding security policies and procedures.
You will act as the NAVSEA Security Contracting Officer and review unclassified and classified contracts to determine the required security.
You will address contractor violations, and leading requests for the retention or transfers of classified information.
You will analyze personnel security information to make suitability, eligibility and adjudication recommendations or determinations.
You will review employee and contractor pre-appointment background investigation security forms and documentation.
You will review requests for personnel or facility security clearance to assure that all required information is provided, requesting missing information.
You will interpret suitability factors, and develop recommendations.
You will develop and implement policies and procedures to detect, deter, and mitigate insider threats.
