Job Description:
You will serve as a SENIOR ELECTRICAL ENGINEER within one of the organizations of NAVAL SURFACE WARFARE CENTER, CRANE DIVISION.
Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the ND-03 pay band (GS-9/10/11 grade level equivalency) in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: As a professional engineer (1) Planning, designing, developing, testing, or evaluating electrical or electronics systems, equipment, and components; (2) conducting engineering studies or analyses to resolve complex technical problems while ensuring compliance with applicable codes, standards, and regulations; (3) developing or reviewing technical specifications, drawings, or schematics for electrical or electronics systems; (4) providing technical guidance or mentorship to engineering staff; and (5) managing engineering projects, including budget, scheduling, or resource allocation. Experience must also include demonstrated ability to analyze and solve complex technical problems, along with communication and teamwork skills to collaborate with internal and external stakeholders. You will serve as a senior electrical engineer, planning, designing, developing, testing, and evaluating electrical systems, equipment, and components to meet project objectives.
You will conduct complex engineering studies and analyses to identify and resolve critical electrical engineering problems, ensuring compliance with applicable codes, standards, and regulations.
You will develop and review technical specifications, drawings, and schematics for electrical systems, ensuring accuracy, completeness, and adherence to project requirements.
You will provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior engineers and technicians, fostering professional development and ensuring quality of work.
You will manage and coordinate electrical engineering projects, including budget development, scheduling, and resource allocation to ensure completion on time and within budget.
You will represent the agency on technical committees and working groups, collaborating with government agencies, industry partners, and stakeholders to advance electrical engineering practices.
You will design, develop, and implement electrical systems and equipment; prepare detailed drawings, specifications, and cost estimates for new construction, renovations, and upgrades.
You will conduct site surveys and inspections to assess existing electrical infrastructure and identify areas for improvement.
You will oversee installation, testing, and commissioning of electrical systems, ensuring proper functionality and compliance with safety standards.
You will troubleshoot and resolve complex electrical problems using advanced diagnostic tools and techniques, while applying problem-solving skills with minimal supervision.
You will communicate technical information through phone, email, face-to-face interactions, and briefings to management, coworkers, customers, and contractors using tools like Microsoft Office suite.
