Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through national service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community, student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills, and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.
The USITC is a dynamic and mission-driven agency. This position is in the Office of Administrative Services, Office of Security, of the U.S. International Trade Commission (USITC). The incumbent serves as the Director of the Office of Security and will serve as the technical advisor to the Chief Administrative Officer and Commission on matters relating to information security, except for network-based cyber-security (including the protection, handling, and destruction of classified and unclassified information), personnel security, physical security, continuity and occupant emergency planning and response, and occupational health and safety. The security program includes contract management of the security guards and the equipment and maintenance of physical security systems, including HSPD-12 compliance. The incumbent serves as the Facility Security Officer, Emergency Response Incident Commander, and COOP Coordinator. In addition, the incumbent manages and oversees day-to-day operations of personnel and office activities. Works with the Chief Administrative Officer and associated staff to prepare the annual budget and spending plan for the office. Develops, implements, and evaluates internal controls and procedures to ensure that all practices adhere to the policies for good stewardship and customer services established by the Commission. Analyzes and interprets statutes, regulations, government-wide guidance, and Commission directives affecting the work of the office.
