Job Description:
You will serve as a LEAD SYSTEMS ENGINEER in the MODERNIZATION & INSTALLATION DEPARTMENT of NAVAL SURFACE WARFARE CENTER, located in Port Hueneme, CA.
Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the ND-03 (GS-09/11 equivalent) grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: As a professional Engineer coordinating projects and managing technical issues to plan and execute a ship combat system installation and modernization program. You will provide oversight of division products and services including modernization planning, execution, risk analysis and management, installation, development, and program/project support.
You will review engineering and technical procedures/processes within the division, including ship change installation procedures, installation checkout test procedures, repair procedures, and branch operation processes.
You will coordinate corrective actions requirements for contractor cost, schedule, or performance issues.
You will work with Branch Managers to ensure proper combat system interoperability for Safe, Effective and Affordable systems installation, integration and maintenance.
You will demonstrate knowledge of Systems Engineering and Life Cycle Engineering for ship Combat/Weapon Systems.
You will plan, execute and administer ship Combat System modernization and installation through engineering principles, processes, and concepts.
