This vacancy is for a GS-0303-7, Administrative Assistant located in the Department of Homeland Security, U.S. Coast Guard, NMC MARINER TRAINING and ASSESSMENT DIVISION in Martinsburg, West Virginia.
To qualify at the GS-07 grade level, applicants must have at least one (1) full year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the GS-06 grade level in the federal sector. Specialized experience is experience that has equipped you with the particular ability, skill, and knowledge to successfully perform the duties of this position and is typically in or related to this line of work. Specialized experience must include the following: Reviewing correspondence for grammar, spelling, punctuation and required formats Managing and tracking schedules, events, and processes Budgeting, managing timekeeping, and/or travel NOTE: Education cannot be substituted for experience at this grade level. You will serve as an Administrative Assistant and be responsible for performing a variety of clerical and office management functions essential to the efficient and effective operation of the Division. Being a Coast Guard civilian makes you a valuable member of the Coast Guard team. Typical work assignments include: Exercises exclusive control over the Division Chief's appointments, with complete authority for commitments of the Division Chief's time Screens all correspondence for the Division Chief in order to properly route for completion Responds to inquiries and administrative problems brought to the Division Chief by staff members Completes timekeeper duties for multiple divisions
