You will serve as a FLEET TRAINING DIRECTOR in the TRAINING DIRECTORATE of COMMANDER US PACIFIC FLEET. The President has ordered a government-wide hiring freeze subject to certain limited exceptions. This position is subject to the hiring freeze. Although we are moving forward with the consideration of candidates, we will not make a selection for this vacancy announcement unless and until the position is no longer subject to the hiring freeze.
Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-14 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: developing, implementing and evaluating fleet training strategies to resolve issues and improve training effectiveness and efficiency in support of warfighting readiness. You will provide long-term continuity and expertise on the entire spectrum of training in support of Pacific Fleet ships, squadrons, submarines, afloat staffs, and as appropriate, shore organizations.
You will manage, develop, and maintain air, surface, subsurface, and ground ranges and Tactical Training Range Systems capabilities needed for Fleet training.
You will resolve training issues and establish Fleet-wide priorities for training range upgrades and modernizations.
You will recommend changes to Fleet training policy and processes to ensure responsiveness to changes in naval strategy and tactics.
You will supervise execution of Program Management functions for COMPACFLT training budget, specifically Tactical Training Ranges and COMPACFLT training commands.
You will serve as Director in overall coordination of operations and training civilian career management programs and labor relations matters.
You will identify and promote effectiveness and efficiencies in training resources to include development of recommendations for organizational, infrastructure, manpower, and training process changes.
