You will serve as an ELETRONICS MECHANIC SUPERVISOR I in the ANTENNA REPAIR SHOP 67H of TRIREFFAC KINGS BAY.
Although a specific length of time and experience is not required for most trade and labor occupations, you must show through experience and training that you possess the quality level of knowledge and skill necessary to perform the duties of the position at the level for which you are applying. Qualification requirements emphasis is on quality of experience, not necessarily the length of time. Your qualifications will be evaluated on the basis of your level of knowledge, skills, abilities and/or competencies in the job elements and screen out listed below. This job has a screen-out element which will be used to determine minimum eligibility for this job. Applicants who do not receive a minimum of two points on the screen-out element(s) will be found ineligible. The Screen-out Element for this position is: ABILITY TO LEAD OR SUPERVISE. Planning the sequence of operations and work steps required to accomplish the installation, repair, modification, and troubleshooting complex submarine mast and antenna equipment. Managing electrical and electronic work operations to meet established project deadlines. Communicating clearly with others verbally and in writing to execute assigned tasks, exercising administrative and technical supervision over shop personnel. Directing TRIDENT submarine maintenance and repair to meet production goals and command mission. You will exercise technical and administrative accountability and responsibility for the substantive work carried out by subordinates in accomplishing shop operations.
You will assign, direct, and review the work of subordinates and evaluate their work performance.
You will explain to, and gain the support of, subordinates for management policies and goals.
You will ensure work schedule planning and forecasting, including accomplishment of submarine modifications, ship alterations, planned and corrective maintenance actions, etc., for the shop and submarines undergoing refit.
You will provide recommendations to higher levels of management on matters such as the ability or inability to accomplish work assignments on time.
You will provide recommendations to higher levels of management on matters such as unplanned personnel absences, changes in production techniques that may be required, changes in production facilities and equipment, and progress of assigned work.
You will establish and maintain an appropriate work environment among employees that ensures achievement of management goals by providing timely, efficient, and economical work on a continuing basis.
You will conduct daily review of submarine Production Status Reports (PSR), update PSR status blocks, and account for work hours expended on production and production support.
