Job Description:
You will serve as a General Engineer, Mechanical Engineer, Electrical Engineer, or Electronics Engineer in the Test and Evaluation Dept of NAVUNSEAWARCENDIV KEYPORT WA. The Secretary of Defense has ordered a department-wide hiring freeze subject to certain limited exceptions. This position is subject to the DoD hiring freeze. Offers of employment related to this vacancy announcement will not be executed until the position has an approved exemption.
Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience equivalent to the next lower grade level (GS-12) or pay band in the federal service or equivalent experience in the Federal service, or in the public or private sector as a professional Engineer providing engineering project management in support of the research, development, or test and evaluation of an undersea weapon system. You will serve as a Production Acceptance Engineer (PAE) for undersea weapons in the Systems Acquisition and Production Acceptance Brance.
You will evaluate the production of complex torpedo and undersea systems to ensure the quality and operational readiness of the Navy's undersea warfare systems.
You will identify potential risks and vulnerabilities within systems and production processes.
You will define clear acceptance criteria and translate these requirements into unambiguous contractual language.
You will collaborate with engineers, scientists, and mathematicians on a range of technical tasks, including test strategy planning, data analysis, risk management, and the development of technical documents.
