Job Description:

Who may apply: Current permanent DFAS employees in the competitive service, eligible DoD PPP Military Spouse preference applicants, and current DFAS VRA employees. This position is located in IT DIR OFFICE, ACCOUNTING SERVICES, ARMY SYSTEMS, ARMY ACCOUNTING SYSTEMS SUSTAIN BR, ZTCAA.
One year of specialized experience equivalent in level of difficulty and responsibility to that of the next lower grade (GS-12) within the federal service, which demonstrates the ability to perform the duties of the position, is required. Specialized experience is defined as: experience performing security impact analysis of proposed system changes; experience which demonstrates substantive knowledge of risk management framework; experience with testing internal controls for FISCAM and RMF; identifying issues and recommended solutions to support system access control; and providing testing support of system changes to ensure the security and integrity of the system and data. Time-in-Grade: Current or former federal employees who have held a GS position in the preceding 52 weeks, must meet the time in grade requirement. Applicant must have served 52 weeks as a GS-12 or higher grade in Federal Service. You may qualify for consideration if meeting time-in grade, specialized experience, education requirement, 90 days after competitive appointment requirement, and all other qualification requirements within 30 calendar days after the closing date of the announcement, unless otherwise indicated on the announcement.
Develops application security plans, policy guidance, operations regulations, and procedures to ensure IA regulatory requirements are followed in support of assigned applications and systems.
Provides assistance and guidance on matters pertaining to the Risk Management Framework.
Analyst serves as an advisor to the System Manager. Incumbent develops and implements accounting and financial systems procedural guidance and requirements to ensure regulatory compliance as required by higher authority and public laws.
Conducts system audits to ensure policies and procedures for all these areas of financial and budget accounting and reporting are followed in systems development.
Identifies weaknesses and problems and develops recommendations for revisions or modifications to existing systems to improve effectiveness, efficiency, and economy.
