The primary purpose of this position is to perform as the Chief of Information Protection and Information Security Program Manager, implementing base-wide procedures as the local expert for interpretation of agency security policies and security program execution for administration of multiple security functions.
Experience requirements are described in the Office of Personnel Management (OPM) Qualification Standards for General Schedule Positions, https://www.opm.gov/policy-data-oversight/classification-qualifications/general-schedule-qualification-standards/#url=Group-Standards SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE: Applicants must have at least 1 year (52 weeks) of specialized experience at the next lower broadband NH-03, equivalent to the next lower grade GS-13 or equivalent in other pay systems. Specialized experience is having the ability perform as the Chief of Information Protection and Information Security Program Manager, implementing base-wide procedures as the local expert for interpretation of agency security policies and security program execution for administration of multiple security functions.experience in relevant and grade appropriate experience developing, supervising, and leading organizations, experience coordinating with multiple tenant staff and higher-level Air Force information protection agencies in accomplishing higher legal and regulatory requirements, and extensive knowledge and mastery of DoD and AF Information Protection Enterprise (All security disciplines to include information, physical, personnel, and industrial as well as operations security, SCI, and SAP) and regulations. NOTE: Due to the use of 120-day rosters, this period of experience may be completed within 120 days of the closing date of this announcement. Ideal Candidate: 96 TW is the host for the Eglin AFB Installation support multiple tenants from various AF Commands, other Components, and Agencies. An ideal candidate will have relevant prior experience as an installation level Chief of Information protection and have extensive experience supporting Enterprise security disciplines for host and tenant organizations. Ideal candidate will be skilled with leading change, resolving interpretation, and conflict within teams internally and externally. KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES (KSAs): Your qualifications will be evaluated on the basis of your level of knowledge, skills, abilities and/or competencies in the following areas: 1. In-depth knowledge of policies, procedures, concepts, principles, systems, and methodology for security administration for multiple occupational disciplines, such as Information, Industrial, Personnel, Operations, and Physical Security. 2. Ability to plan, organize, and direct the functions and mentor, motivate, and appraise staff of an organization through subordinate supervisors. 3. Ability to analyze, plan, and adjust work operations of one or more organizational segments to meet program requirements and objectives within available resources. 4. Must have experience communicating clearly and effectively orally and in writing, using presentation and report formats for all audience levels. 5. In-depth knowledge of management and organizational principles and practices to be used in conjunction with the comprehensive knowledge security program administration. PART-TIME OR UNPAID EXPERIENCE: Credit will be given for appropriate unpaid and or part-time work. You must clearly identify the duties and responsibilities in each position held and the total number of hours per week. VOLUNTEER WORK EXPERIENCE: Refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service Programs (i.e., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student and social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge and skills that can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.
Plans work to be accomplished by subordinates, sets and adjusts short/long-term priorities, and prepares schedules for completion of work. Plans, organizes, and oversees the activities of the Information Protection Office. Establishes, develops, and maintains effective working relationships with employees, supervisors, and managers at all echelons at the Center.
