Basic Requirement for Supervisory Contract Specialist: Degree: Bachelor's degree (or higher degree) from an accredited educational institution authorized to grant baccalaureate degrees. OR Exemption: You are exempt from the education requirements above if (A) you are a current DoD employee, in any occupational series, who has served on or before September 30, 2000, as follows: (1) Served as a GS/equivalent-1102 position or contracting officer position with authority to award or administer contracts above the SAT in any Federal agency, OR (2) Served as a military member in a comparable military occupational specialty; OR (B) you are a current member of the armed forces who occupied a position within an occupational specialty similar to the GS-1102 series on or before September 30, 2000.Some federal jobs allow you to substitute your education for the required experience in order to qualify. In addition to meeting the basic requirement above, to qualify for this position you must also meet the qualification requirements listed below: In addition to meeting the basic requirement above, to qualify for this position you must also meet the qualification requirements listed below: Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes: I have one year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-14 grade level in the Federal service which includes: 1) formulating comprehensive acquisition strategies and plans, 2) implementing new procurement guidelines and policies across the organization, 3) managing concurrent contractual actions ensuring compliance with principles, techniques, and accepted contracting practices, 4) directing personnel management functions, including staff coordination, mentoring, and performance oversight, and 5) aligning contracting strategies and workforce capabilities with organizational goals. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-14). Some federal jobs allow you to substitute your education for the required experience in order to qualify. Oversees the contracting operation of a USACE Integrated Program Office (IPO) for the multi-billion Sentinel Ground Based Strategic Deterrent (GBSD) Program.
Provides expert advice to ensure sound business principles are used in the Sentinel Ground Based Strategic Deterrent (GBSD) Program.
Supervises, manages, and provides guidance, advice, and assistance to subordinate staff.
Evaluates subordinate supervisors or leaders and serves as the reviewing official on evaluations of nonsupervisory employees rated by subordinate supervisors.
Recommends and carries out action to eliminate actual and potential waste, fraud, and abuse of Government resources.
Provides oversight of contracting operations through the Contract Operations Review program.
