Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience that equipped you with the particular competencies to successfully perform the duties of the position, and that is typically in or related to the position to be filled. To qualify at the GS-12 level, applicants must possess one year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-11 level or equivalent under other pay systems in the Federal service, military, or private sector. Applicants must meet eligibility requirements including time-in-grade (General Schedule (GS) positions only), time-after-competitive appointment, minimum qualifications, and any other regulatory requirements by the cut-off/closing date of the announcement. Creditable specialized experience includes: Analyzing personnel program effectiveness and recommending improvements to support active-duty and reserve military members across serviced DoD organizations Evaluating administrative processes related to military leave, evaluations, and awards to ensure compliance with service-specific regulations and recommending corrective actions Supporting implementation of military personnel policies by identifying procedural gaps and proposing solutions to enhance operational efficiency across joint commands Reviewing and preparing reports and correspondence for military personnel actions, ensuring accuracy and timeliness in support of enterprise-wide personnel management strategies Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional, philanthropic, religious, spiritual, community, student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.
Serves as a DLA Military Personnel analyst for all Military Personnel, Reservists, and National Guard members for all serviced DoD Customers, and assists in conducting Military Personnel studies under senior analyst guidance.
Support action officers working directly with joint commands hosting multiple service component military personnel across numerous geographical locations, including Asia, Europe, and continental United States(CONUS).
Designs and conducts comprehensive military personnel studies to identify solutions to problems and issues involving military personnel management processes.
Resolves routine to moderately complex problems with guidance, offering assistance to individual service members and supervisors in implementing policies and regulations, and supporting briefings to management.
Composes correspondence and reports pertaining to all active-duty and reserve personnel of the Army, Navy, Air Force, and Marines assigned to supported agencies.
Conduct surveys to determine best practices. Identifies adverse trends that will impact service-specific individual military personnel or the effectiveness of military personnel programs.
Assists in managing the military leave program and processes Services evaluation reports for officers and enlisted personnel within serviced DoD Customer organizations with oversight.
