This position is located in Olympic National Park, in the Facility Management Division. This is a Career/Career-Conditional Full-time appointment. Travel, transportation, and relocation expenses will be paid if the selectee lives outside of the local commuting area and is otherwise eligible for reimbursement of relocation expenses in accordance with the Federal Travel Regulation.

This position serves as a Utility Repairer-Operator in any organizational unit within the National Park Service (NPS). The primary purpose is to install, maintain, test, troubleshoot, repair, and celibrate a variety of utility systems that require intermediate to journey level skills in various utility related trades such as electrical work, air conditioning equipment repair, heating equipment maintenance, boiler plant maintenance, wastewater treatment operation, water treatment operation, water treatment operation, and engineering equipment operation. MAJOR DUTIES: Utility Systems Repairer- Operators (USRO's) are responsible for assisting in the efficient repair, maintenance and operation of water treatment facilities, water distribution systems, large onsite septic (LOSS) wastewater collection systems, lift stations, and ancillary equipment. Read meters and check monitoring devices, pressure switches, gauges, pumps, motors and troubleshoot and reset switches and breakers. Assist with the collection and processing of water samples in the operation of a state certified lab, performing bacteriological analysis following quality assurance/quality control requirements. Assist in sewage pumping operations, schedule and emergency water and wastewater system repair
