This vacancy is for a GS-0802-11, Civil Engineering Technician located in the Department of Homeland Security, U.S. Coast Guard, CG ACADEMY CIVIL AND ENVIRONMENTAL ENGINEERING DEPARMENT.
To qualify at the GS-11 grade level, applicants must have at least one (1) full year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the GS-10 grade level in the federal sector. Specialized experience is experience that has equipped you with the particular ability, skill, and knowledge to successfully perform the duties of this position and is typically in or related to this line of work. You will serve as an Civil Engineering Technician and be responsible for managing the Civil Engineering materials laboratories and providing assistance to faculty and students working in the laboratory. These duties include: Being a Coast Guard civilian makes you a valuable member of the Coast Guard team. Typical work assignments include: Performing materials engineering testing and evaluations. Supporting Civil & Environmental Engineering projects. Testing, installation, repair, modification, and maintenance of equipment or systems for Civil & Environmental Engineering projects and laboratory experiments. Conducting materials engineering studies. Providing materials engineering advice and guidance. Maintaining knowledge of current materials engineering technology.
