Organizational Location: This position is with the Department of Homeland Security, within U.S. Customs and Border Protection, Operations Support, CBP Watch, Communications Center Division located in Orlando, Florida.
Experience: You qualify for the GS-13 grade level if you possess 1 year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the next lower grade level, performing duties such as: Coordinating and overseeing national law enforcement communication initiatives, including the development of inter/intra-agency radio communications support guidelines and standard operating procedures. Utilizing state-of-the-art communication technologies to resolve complex integration and interoperability problems within a law enforcement context. Developing and implementing new concepts, guides, and methodologies to resolve unprecedented operational problems in a high-pressure environment. This position heads one of the Sector Operations teams within Communications Center of Operations Branch. This position directly supports the CBP mission and its focus on officer safety and the facilitation of secure mission-critical communications and information sharing. This position starts at a salary of $105,383.00 (GS-13, Step 1) to $137,000.00 (GS-13, Step 10). While serving as a Supervisory Sector Enforcement Specialist, your duties will include: Supervising and directing the activities of Sector Enforcement Specialists, providing technical guidance and ensuring the timely and quality performance of work. Representing the Division and CBP at meetings with federal, state, and local law enforcement agencies to discuss national communications guidelines, radio network operations, and enforcement data. Providing technical and administrative supervision, including performance evaluations, training, and resolving personnel issues. Monitoring and adjusting work schedules and priorities to meet shifting operational demands and ensures adherence to proper procedures and methods of operation.
