This position is located in Fraud Detection and National Security Directorate, HQ FDNS Fraud Division. As a Supervisory Immigration Officer, you will safeguard the integrity of the nation's lawful immigration system by leading agency efforts to combat fraud, detect national security and public safety threats, and maximize law enforcement and Intelligence Community partnerships.
The qualifications for this position must be met by 11:59 PM (Eastern Time) on 09/26/2025. Current Federal employees must have served 52 weeks at the lower grade or equivalent grade band in the Federal service. The Time-in-Grade requirement must be met by 11:59 PM (Eastern Time) on 09/26/2025. GS-14: You qualify at the GS-14 level if you possess one (1) year of specialized experience, which is equivalent to at least the GS-13 level in the federal government, that equipped you with the skills needed to successfully perform the duties of the position. You must have experience performing the following duties: Implementing policies or procedures that will strengthen fraud detection while screening immigration benefit applications; Providing technical oversight and operational guidance to staff engaged in detecting immigration benefit fraud; Collaborating with government officials from law enforcement or Intelligence Community partners to investigate immigration benefit fraud; Preparing reports that identify weaknesses and detect immigration benefit fraud; and, Establishing long-range work plans and determining the actions necessary to accomplish fraud detection objectives. Serve as a supervisor under a Branch Chief within the Fraud Detection and National Security Directorate (FDNS) and report to the Branch Chief and Division Chief.
Direct subordinates in the conduct of inquiries to verify or disprove suspicions of fraud, public safety, or national security concerns (e.g., systems checks, screening and vetting).
Direct FDNS Immigration Officers and staff in performing the identification, articulation, and pursuit of FDNS investigations.
Perform complex analyses and draft reports that describe findings and state recommendations.
Coordinate immigration fraud investigations and initiatives with local, regional, and national USCIS offices, as well as other state, local, and federal law enforcement agencies and task forces.
Perform administrative, human resource management, and management functions.
