Job Description:

You will serve as a Contract Specialist in the Contracting Division of MARINE CORPS BASE.
In addition to the Basic Requirements for this position, your resume must also demonstrate at least one year of experience at or equivalent to the GS-11 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: Utilizing acquisition procedures, cost and price analysis, and regulations in the administration, negotiation, management and planning of contracts. You will perform or lead others in performance of all pre-award contracting functions in fixed-price, cost reimbursement, or combination methods and types to procure large, highly complex/high dollar equipment systems, programs or services
You will develop procurement packages, and a source file of responsible contractors.
You will request or perform price/cost analysis, analyze and evaluate findings contained in audit reports, and support recommendations with detailed analysis of each cost element.
You will conduct extensive negotiations during all phases of the procurement process, and formulate the negotiation strategy.
You will perform post award functions to include monitoring contractor performance, negotiating delivery orders, extensions of delivery schedules, price adjustments, modifications to the contract and similar agreements and contract closeout.
You will serve as customer liaison for contracting questions.
