Job Description:

You will serve as a MANAGEMENT SERVICES ASSISTANT (OA) in the FAMILY HOUSING DIVISION of MARINE CORPS BASE. The President has ordered a government-wide hiring freeze subject to certain limited exceptions. This position is subject to the hiring freeze. Although we are moving forward with the consideration of candidates, we will not make a selection for this vacancy announcement unless and until the position is no longer subject to the hiring freeze.
Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-05 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: Reviewing incoming correspondence to determine appropriate course of action; using various advanced software applications to prepare a wide variety of written documents, charts, and/or graphs; and advising personnel regarding administrative policies and procedures. This position requires the ability to type at least 40 words per minute. Your response to the typing skill question on the Occupational Questionnaire will be used in your qualification determination. You will provide administrative guidance to reporting Units on format and submission requirements for Administrative Action (AA) forms or letter requests submitted by residents seeking an exception to housing policy.
You will provide administrative services on a walk-in basis to military service members/spouses, draft and prepare correspondence regarding housing-related functions, and review correspondence submitted by subordinate clerks.
You will file and maintain assignment/termination vouchers, inspection records and relevant documents in resident files.
You will serve as the Defense Travel System (DTS) specialist for the Family Housing Division by managing access to DTS and ensuring activation of government travel credit cards.
You will be responsible for processing all personnel actions for recruitment/promotion/detail/separation and record and/or review time and attendance.
You will plan and organize work and manage positions to ensure maximum productivity for monies spent, as well as select/assign/appraise/train and develop employees.
