About the position: This position is Non-appropriated Fund (NAF) and will be assigned to the Hillberg Ski Area/ Otter Lake. This a Regular Full-Time position. Regular Full-Time employees have a regular and continuous work schedule of at least 35 hours to a maximum of 40 hours per week. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Your resume must clearly describe your relevant experience; if the position allows for qualifying based on education, your transcripts will be required as part of your application. Qualifying Experience: Ability to supervise 3 or more employees. Familiar with RECTR Point-of-Sale system. Knowledge in the operation of an accounts receivable program. Applicant must have experience which provides a working familiarity with the routines and procedures followed in activities or programs; and practical knowledge and/or experience of recreational activities and equipment. Applicant must have progressively responsible experience in clerical or office work that provided a thorough knowledge of administrative principles and practices. Knowledge of office automation software is required. Must be able to read, write, and speak English. Typing skills are required.
Works under the direction of the Supervisory Recreation Specialist (Hillberg/Otter Lake) who is available to deal with unusual situations which may occur and to provide guidance and instructions when performing new or procedurally complex duties. Supervise a staff of 3 or more employees, assigns and reviews work assignments on a daily, weekly, or longer basis. As a working supervisor, performs the following types of duties: Actively participates in the management of the activity or organization by performing a wide variety of clerical and administrative support duties. Serves as the central point of contact for matters related to day-to-day operations in equipment rental department, Lesson & Activity Center, and Lesson Center. Applies knowledge of the organization, its functions and regulations to carry out a wide variety of administrative functions related to the organization and its mission (e.g., personnel, accounting, budget, purchasing, logistics and supply, transportation, security, etc). Exercises independent judgment. Composes operating procedures and sets internal priorities to generate improvements in administrative services. An extensive knowledge of rules, operations, and practices, and judgment in locating and selecting the most appropriate guidelines is required. Performs other duties related to office automation requiring a skill in general office machines, software, and the internet. Oversees general office and financial support to Hillberg & Otter Lake management. Oversees the retail operation purchasing, maintains inventories (monthly/annually), sales and marketing. Assigns, directs, and reviews the work of subordinates, and evaluates their work performance; approving or disapproving sick leave, annual leave or other absences from work; planning, scheduling, and coordinating work operations, solving problems related to the work supervised; determining equipment and supplies needed; and explaining and gaining the support of subordinates for management policy and goals; and for dealing effectively with employee and representatives of personnel on employee suggestions, complaints, grievances and other matters. Maintains Hillberg/Otter Lake personnel time and attendance records ensuring compliance with Air Force guidance. Reviews, prepares, and submits reports and daily paperwork.
