This position is located at FMWR Better Opportunities for Single Soldiers on Fort Wainwright, Alaska. Up to 25% recruitment or relocation and/or a retention incentive may be authorized. Eligible for 1.49% COLA. One year of specialized experience at the GS-07 level is required. Must be able to manage multiple projects and determine work priorities under the guidance of Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), Appropriated Fund (APF) and Nonappropriated Fund (NAF) Better Opportunities for Single Soldiers (BOSS) regulations, and the immediate supervisor. Must have a working knowledge of basic software. Knowledge of budget formulation and administration. Ability to learn military correspondence procedures and dealing with the public. Must also possess excellent verbal and written skills in English. Highly Preferred: Candidates that possess highly preferred criteria and meet the minimum qualifications above will be referred to the hiring manager first. Criteria is verified within the application package. Possess one (1) year experience serving as a either a Better Opportunities for Single Soldiers (BOSS) FMWR Advisor, BOSS President, BOSS Command Sergeant Major or BOSS Representative.
Directly supervises and provides guidance and training to the BOSS President and Vice President on all assigned duties.
Oversees, plans, coordinates, and administers activities based on the pillars of the BOSS program, i.e. community service and recreation and leisure.
Initiates purchase requests and follows progress until completion with outside agencies, using Standard Non-Appropriated Fund (NAF) Contracting System (SNACS).
Prepares and submits an annual NAF Budget, collects applicable fees for events, accounts for monies and petty cash funds, prepares a Daily Activity Report, monitors and prepares Rec-Trac data and makes daily deposits.
Solicits for sponsorship under the direct supervision of the installation MWR Marketing Department. Develops a marketing plan for recreational programs. Coordinates, administers, and conducts monthly BOSS meetings.
