Job Description:

This position is located in the Fleet Readiness (MWR) Department, Naval Support Activity Panama City, Florida. The purpose of this position is to manage the maintenance of all equipment and facilities of the Fleet Readiness Department.

Qualifying experience must have been equivalent to the next lower level in the normal line of progression. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: Significant knowledge in vocational skills such as carpentry, painting, equipment repair, and the operation of machinery. Knowledge of non-appropriated fund financial regulations. Knowledge of procurement and inventory procedures. Ability to supervise and direct civilian subordinates. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer and part time experience. You must clearly identify the duties and responsibilities in each position held and the total number of hours per week. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., professional, philanthropic, religious, spiritual, community, student, social). Supervises non-appropriated, civil service and military personnel on a full-time and temporary basis. Administers the self-help program. Assembles, constructs, and maintains equipment such as playground, picnic, park benches, etc. Supervises volunteer working parties in the accomplishment of such projects. Transports equipment and supplies to various locations as required. Performs preventative maintenance on various equipment, tools, and facilities. Submits work requests for requirements which cannot be performed in-house. Acts as purchasing agent for the Fleet Readiness Department. Identifies and labels equipment, supplies, minor property and assets with stock numbers issued by supervisor in accordance with existing instructions. Handles and disposes of equipment, supplies, and hazardous materials. Ensures all disposed minor property and assets are removed from inventory. Identifies non-scrap materials and arranges transportation to Defense Reutilization and Marketing Office (DRMO). Assists in the development of an annual budget considering salaries, supplies, new equipment, repairs and other expenses. Executes the budget as approved by supervisor. Performs other duties as assigned.
