Job Description:
You will serve as a Lead Security Guard in the security department of NAVAL WAR COLLEGE.
In order to qualify for this position, your resume must provide sufficient experience and/or education, knowledge, skills, and abilities to perform the duties of the specific position for which you are being considered. Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-05 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: 1) Controlling personnel access by verifying identification; 2) Enforcing security measures required to protect personnel, materials, and property and advises supervisor on crime prevention matters; 3) Provides guidance on security matters as it relates to security guard functions and procedures; and 4) Providing instructions and training to employees. You will make daily assignments to ensure that guard coverage is provided to assigned patrol areas and duties.
You will instruct employees in specific tasks and job techniques and provide on-the-job training to new employees in accordance with established procedures.
You will check and secure buildings, spaces, and areas internal and external to the main facility to protect personnel, property, and facilities.
You will perform control desk duties including monitoring alarm systems, closed circuit TVs, telephone and radio networks to support security efforts.
You will verify identification through use of identification cards, badges, biometrics, automated records, vehicle decals, verbal questioning, or other means.
