Job Description:

You will serve as an IT Specialist (SYSANALYSIS/CUSTSPT) of NAS JAX.
I have one year of information technology related experience in the federal service or private or public sector demonstrating the following four competencies, as defined: 1.Attention to Detail - Is thorough when performing work and conscientious about attending to detail. IT-related experience demonstrating this competency include: Analyze customer feedback to improve information technology (IT) customer services. 2.Customer Service - Works with clients and customers (that is, any individuals who use or receive the services or products that your work unit produces, including the general public, individuals who work in the agency, other agencies, or organizations outside the Government) to assess their needs, provide information or assistance, resolve their problems, or satisfy their expectations; knows about available products and services; is committed to providing quality products and services. IT-related experience demonstrating this competency include: Evaluate information technology (IT) customer support requirements to develop metrics. 3.Oral Communication - Expresses information (for example, ideas or facts) to individuals or groups effectively, taking into account the audience and nature of the information (for example, technical, sensitive, controversial); makes clear and convincing oral presentations; listens to others, attends to nonverbal cues, and responds appropriately. IT-related experience demonstrating this competency include: Analyze information systems to identify operational malfunctions that need correcting. 4.Problem Solving - Identifies problems; determines accuracy and relevance of information; uses sound judgment to generate and evaluate alternatives, and to make recommendations. IT related experience demonstrating this competency include: Conduct systems diagnostics to verify the availability and functionality of systems. In addition to my experience demonstrating the four competencies above, I have at least one year of specialized experience equivalent to the next lower grade level (GS-09) or pay band in the federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector performing the following: 1) Providing expert technical advice and/or guidance on critical information systems issues to sure the integration of programs and services; 2) Analyzes system operations to identify inefficiencies and/or takes action to resolve problems to ensure optimal performance; 3) Diagnoses system failures to isolate source of problems and/or implements changes on platforms; 4) Provides solutions by, devising fixes, documenting problems and/or advising responsible parties; 5) Interacts with peers and/or vendors to resolve hardware and software problems and reports unresolved problems; 6) Plans and schedules the installation of new or modified hardware, operating systems, and/or software applications; 7) Directs testing of vendor provided software; 8) Implements systems software changes, operating system releases and/or maintains the operational status of systems Additional qualification information can be found from the following Office of Personnel Management website: https://www.opm.gov/policy-data-oversight/classification-qualifications/general-schedule-qualification-standards/2200/information-technology-it-management-series-2210-alternative-a/ OR https://www.opm.gov/policy-data-oversight/classification-qualifications/general-schedule-qualification-standards/2200/information-technology-it-management-series-2210-alternative-b/ . You will Evaluate network hardware, software, protocol, or procedural options for suitability.
You will Troubleshoot and perform complex system conflict resolution to isolate and identify problems and develop solutions.
You will Identify recurring customer information technology (IT) issues to determine mitigation responses.
You will Conduct systems diagnostics to verify the availability and functionality of systems.
