Job Description:
You will serve as a Supply Technician in the Department of Navy, Bureau of Medicine & Surgery of NAVMEDREADLOGCMD.
Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of Specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-06 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following:1) Utilizing knowledge of receiving, storing, and shipping procedures; 2) Using material handling equipment (MHE); 3) Utilizing basic computer skills and experience with logistics software, such as warehouse management systems and accountable property systems; and 4) Following established procedures for handling hazardous materials, narcotics, and other sensitive items. You will analyze, arrange, and sort command material in order to plan for command needs.
You will provide analytical/ supply support in the production of Expeditionary Deployable Medical Systems.
You will maintain records and control over materials in stock, due in, or planned for the distribution system on a quantitative and monetary basis.
You will plan, evaluate, and select appropriate sites and facilities for storing various items found inside a field hospital.
You will plan the layout of storage areas and advise on ways to improve the efficiency and economy of the distribution and storage operations.
You will monitor a computer program block to determine efficiency in meeting established requirements and recommend changes in data flow, sources of input, report formats, and calculations to satisfy customer needs.
You will oversee cradle to grave acquisition process with regards to procurement, receipt, stowage, and inventory.
You will make recommendations to establish and revise reorder frequencies, establish stock levels for individual items and manage assigned items while remaining within authorized or available funds.
You will participate in original provisioning conferences and establish inventory controls for medical supplies, hospital equipment, etc.
You will compare data listed on documents with Navy Supply catalogs and DOD supply databases for various item descriptors as needed.
You will produce a variety of documents pertaining to word processing functions to arrange data in various formats.
