Job Description:

This position is located in the Department of Health & Human Services (HHS), Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS), Office of Strategic Operations and Regulatory Affairs (OSORA), Program Coordination and Correspondence Group (PCCG). As a Supervisory Health Insurance Specialist, GS-0107-15, you will serve as the director for one of the PCCG divisions and exercise first-line managerial authority of lower and subordinate staff.

In order to qualify for the GS-15 , you must meet the following: You must demonstrate in your resume at least one year (52 weeks) of qualifying specialized experience equivalent to the GS-14 grade level in the Federal government, obtained in either the private or public sector, to include: 1) Leading administrative functions such as internal clearance and coordination processes that support executive-level decision-making of large scale, 2) Mediating conflicts across cross-functional teams and inter-agency government offices, 3) Producing written documents (e.g., briefing packages, decision memos, correspondence, etc.) that are clear, error free, and objective; AND 4) Managing large enterprise-wide correspondence and/or document management IT systems. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community, student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Coordinate all facets of the division’s work by mobilizing a team of multi-disciplinary professionals who serve as the primary liaison on behalf of OA with the HHS Office of the Executive Secretariat.
Oversee or directly advise CMS and HHS officials on critical decisions and recommendations associated with the development, management and, coordination of policy information to support the Agency’s administrative decision and clearance processes.
Serve as the major Agency-level focal point for the coordination and scheduling of decision- oriented meetings and briefings for the HHS Office of the Secretary.
Analyze, prepare, and edit responses to inquiries of substantial complexity requiring immediate action and of interest to the highest levels of government and private enterprise.
