Your resume must also demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-06 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: 1) Assisting higher grade specialists in the effective management and coordination of all docking/ undocking work, all berthing support, all pier maintenance coordination and all waterborne support vessel activities. 2) Using judgement to recognize and refer situations not covered by instructions; 3) Performing advanced assignments with a great level of judgement in accordance to guidelines Additional qualification information can be found from the following Office of Personnel Management website: https://www.opm.gov/policy-data-oversight/classification-qualifications/general-schedule-qualification-standards/#url=List-by-Occupational-Series Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., professional, philanthropic, religious, spiritual, community, student, social). You will assist higher graded specialists in the effective management and coordination of all docking and undocking work, all berthing support, all pier maintenance coordination and all waterborne support vessel activities.
You will review long and short-range ship and work schedules to identify berthing demands.
You will determine ship position at piers to facilitate brow and berthing/support barge placement.
You will inspect and manage pier layouts for safe passage of emergency services.
You will research tide and weather forecast patterns to prepare equipment in the event of low or high tide, and/or emergency procedures and equipment in the event of storms.
You will work under close direction of the supervisor or higher-graded employee who provides assignment requirements.
