Job Description:

You will serve as a GOVERNMENT INFORMATION SPECIALIST in the Office of Legal Counsel of NAVY PERSONNEL COMMAND. Resumes are restricted to no more than 2 pages. Illegible/unreadable resumes will not be considered.
Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-07 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: 1) Utilizing laws, policies, regulations, and systems to provide assistance to customers pertaining to both the Freedom of Information Act (FOIA) and Privacy Act (PA); 2) Writing reports and preparing correspondence, documents, reports, memoranda, etc. to convey laws and policies; 3) Applying analytical, evaluative, and technical methods and techniques to gather data for drawing conclusions; 4) Utilizing Microsoft software such as: Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Access; and 5) Demonstrating skill in administrative and management processes and procedures to develop or modify existing administrative procedures to implement policy and procedure changes. You will perform routine and complex tasks pertaining to the processing of Freedom of Information Act (FOIA) and Privacy Act (PA) requests.
You will determine the appropriate office to route the FOIA/PA request and conducts the necessary coordination to obtain all responsive documents.
You will utilize online FOIA tracking and research systems to collect data and information required to develop responses and reports.
You will ensure all files stored in the office are safeguarded in accordance with the appropriate security regulations and disposition of records guidance.
You will provide assistance and information to office staff and command leadership as necessary.
