Job Description:

You will serve as an ENGINEER/SCIENTIST (Software Systems CHENG) in the Rapid Mission Integration and Interoperability Department (MX), Expeditionary C3 and Cyber Division (MXL), Deputy Division Manager Branch (MXLD) of NAVAL SURFACE WARFARE CENTER. This position is part of the Warfare Centers Personnel Demonstration Project. The ND-05 pay band encompasses positions equivalent to the GS-14 and GS-15.
In addition to the Basic Requirements for this position, your resume must also demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the ND-04 (GS-12/13 grade equivalency) pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: as a professional engineer or scientist, providing technical oversight and expertise in software process development and implementation efforts to identify and mitigate risks for the success of meeting project requirements. You will serve as a Subject Matter Expert (SME) and Technical Leader.
You will lead and guide the development, implementation, and integration of software processes across various domains and platforms.
You will ensure that proper technical rigor is applied throughout the software lifecycle, from requirements development to integration, sustainment, and engineering processes.
You will establish and enforce coding standards, testing methodologies, and documentation practices.
You will guide and mentor junior employees in appropriate software development methods and techniques, fostering their growth and ensuring a high level of technical competence within the team.
You will develop and maintain collaborative relationships with DOD and civilian organizations involved in software and software integration.
You will work to build partnerships to provide customers with the best possible combination of software and systems engineering tools, methods, and techniques relevant to their specific missions and platforms.
You will represent NSWC Crane and the Expeditionary C3I and Cyber Division in matters related to current and future software technology and programs.
