Organizational Location: This position is with the Department of Homeland Security, within U.S. Customs and Border Protection, Office of Field Operations, Manifest and Conveyance Security Division, located in Washington, D.C.
Experience: You qualify for the GS-14 grade level if you possess 1 year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the next lower grade level, performing duties such as: Providing technical direction in project management, team building, facilitation, process improvement analysis Implementing quantitative and qualitative methods within the scope of the respective project and reporting of results Creating, supporting, researching and analyzing existing, emerging and new policies; and developing CBP policy and other component and office policies Determining goals and objectives that need additional emphasis; developing measures that evaluate performance; making recommendations for program improvement; and managing all resources Performing as a liaison with high-ranking officials in other Federal agencies, top-level managers in DHS, and various governing boards/committees. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. You must: Meet all qualification requirements, including education if applicable to this position, subject to verification at any stage of the application process; and Meet all applicable Time in Grade requirements (current federal employees must have served 52 weeks at the next lower grade or equivalent grade band in the federal service) by 10/03/2025. This position will allow you to use your expertise in managing and overseeing programs which have agency-wide and government-wide impact. This position starts at a salary of $142,488.00 (GS-14, Step 1) to $185,234.00 (GS-14, Step 10). Assuring implementation by subordinate organizations and operating units of goal and objectives of a department-wide program. Identifying and resolving, as applicable, unique issues where no policy exists, and taking innovative actions to address new needs or issues.
