GS-12: To be qualified at the GS-12 level, you must have ONE (1) full year of Specialized Experience equivalent to the GS-11 level in the Federal Service. Specialized experience is defined as: analyzing victim-witness communication needs in order to develop and administer a comprehensive victim-witness program; providing recommendations to senior management on victim related matters; coordinating with organization personnel, law enforcement and victim service providers to provide victim with services required by law. - Career Transition Assistance Plan (CTAP)-The CTAP provides eligible surplus and displaced competitive service employees in the Department of Justice with selection priority over other candidates for competitive service vacancies. If selected for this position, you will serve as the Victim Witness Coordinator for the United States Attorney's Office for the Western District of Michigan. Typical work assignments will include: Providing oversight and direction of a district-wide victim assistance program. Coordinating with Department personnel, federal, state and local law enforcement and victim service providers in providing victims with the services required by federal law. Provides in-court support during and prior to hearing and trials for victims and witnesses. Develops and distributes information regarding new programs and services for victims of federal crime. Serving as District representative on local, state and national task forces, committees and working groups regarding victim issues. Developing a network with federal, state and local victim service providers to increase resources and services to better serve federal crime victims. Responding to victim inquiries, assessing victim concerns, and determining eligibility for victim services. Responsibilities will increase and assignments will become more complex as your training and experience progress.
