This position is under the direct supervision of the Housekeeping Supervisor or designee. This position performs both janitorial and custodial services (e.g., textile distribution and inventory activity, sanitizing and disinfecting, waste removal, cleaning of blinds,replacing curtains, washing windows and walls, dusting and polishing furniture and fixtures, discharge cleaning,sweeping,scrubbing and extracting,polishing floors and applying floor finishes).

EXPERIENCE: A specific length of training and experience is not required, but you must show evidence of training or experience of sufficient scope and quality of your ability to do the work of this position. Applicants will be rated in accordance with the OPM Federal Wage System Qualification Standards. SCREEN-OUT ELEMENT: Your qualifications will first be evaluated against the prescribed screen out element, which usually appears as question 1 in the on-line questionnaire. Those applicants who appear to possess at least the minimal acceptable qualification requirement are considered for further rating; those who do not are rated ineligible and are eliminated. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Note: A full year of work is considered to be 35-40 hours of work per week. Part-time experience will be credited on the basis of time actually spent in appropriate activities. Ability to understand and be able to implement the special sanitation techniques and practices that are required in a medical care environment. Must understand and be able to implement the additional sanitation techniques and practices that must be employed while in a critical care setting. Must be able to follow oral and written instructions to be able to communicate effectively with their supervisors and medical personnel assigned to their area. Must command sufficient computer knowledge to complete annual online training requirements and other administrative task such as requesting leave etc.Due to the fragile condition of the patients and the potentially infectious nature of their illness, individual must be constantly attentive to infection control guidelines. Must have the ability to follow set procedures in accomplishing repetitive assignments and follow an established sequence of work. Possess the ability to perform floor maintenance, wall washing, cleaning doors, door frames, baseboard corners and edges, and stairwells, bed cleaning, restroom cleaning, office cleaning, etc. Ability to accomplish tasks by sweeping, dust mopping, damp and wet mopping, scrubbing, stripping, refinishing, buffing, vacuuming and extracting carpets and runners, spot cleaning areas, and high and low dusting. Must have the ability to perform moderate lifting, up to 50 pounds. Additional physical demands include almost constant standing, bending, stooping, walking, pushing and reaching. Must have the ability to extend arms and reach above shoulder height. Work Schedule: Monday-Friday 3:30pm-12:00am ( Subject to changed based on agnecy needs) Position Description Title/PD#: Environmental Service Technician/PD99909-S Physical Requirements: The position demands continuous walking, standing, stooping, kneeling, pulling, and pushing. The work requires the occasional use of heavy powered cleaning equipment (e.g., wall washers, industrial type buffers) weighing over 50 pounds. The duties necessitate considerable dexterity, hand, foot, and eye coordination, and concentration as well as visual acuity to see dirt, dust and debris.
