Job Description:

This position is located in Fraud Detection and National Security Directorate, HQFDNS Training and Knowledge Management Division. As a Communications Specialist, you will engage with internal and external stakeholders through communication strategies and technologies to ensure the consistent flow of accurate information pertinent to safeguarding our nation's lawful immigration system.
The qualifications for this position must be met by 11:59 PM (Eastern Time) on 10/09/2025. Current Federal employees must have served 52 weeks at the lower grade or equivalent grade band in the Federal service. The Time-in-Grade requirement must be met by 11:59 PM (Eastern Time) on 10/09/2025. GS-13: You qualify at the GS-13 level if you possess one (1) year of specialized experience, which is equivalent to at least the GS-12 level in the federal government, that equipped you with the skills needed to successfully perform the duties of the position. You must have experience performing the following duties: Applies knowledge management and communications methods to resolve ongoing communications issues and to contribute to employee engagement strategies; Serves as a technical resource in assessing, planning, developing, coordinating, implementing, and evaluating existing or new or communications strategies addressed to key internal and external stakeholders; Serves as a liaison for communicating issues affecting and impacting the programs mission; Effectively collaborates with different internal and external components to meet organizational needs; and Communicates to the team the assignment, project, problem to be solved, action items, milestones, and/or program issues under review, and deadlines and time frames for completion. Apply communications and knowledge management principles, processes, and systems including communication and collaboration with internal and external stakeholders.
Maintain and develop digital workplace tools such SharePoint sites, library applications and extensive tracking and management information systems for various FDNS and DHS-wide operational processes and enterprise work products.
Monitor and evaluate communication and information sharing processes across FDNS; recommend changes to policy and assist with coordinating liaison activities between DHS components by creating communication sharing products, reports and analyses.
Develop and prescribe procedures and techniques and furnish guidance to subordinates. Devise new methods or procedures for accomplishing work to solve communication and productivity problems.
Plan and assign tasks to subordinates based on project goals and objectives; set and adjust priorities based on direction from FDNS management with consideration of the difficulty and requirements of tasks, and the capabilities of employees.
