This position is located in the 24 hour Emergency Room (ER), within the Division of Nursing at the PHS Indian Hospital, Pine Ridge, SD. BASIC REQUIREMENT(S): Nurse Series 0610 In addition, to the Basic Requirements, you must also meet the Minimum Qualifications stated below- MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: Your resume must demonstrate at least one (1) year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the next lower grade level (GS-11) in the Federal service obtained in either the private or public sector performing the following type of work and/or tasks: Analyzes the delivery of nursing care on the unit, identifies problems and opportunities for improvement and initiates actions based upon analysis; Closely observes patients for conditions, which may require emergency measures; Ensures nursing capabilities, staffing and equipment requirements are adequate to meet the work demands, safety requirements, and accreditation standards; Ensures that Patient Care Standards are implemented; You must meet all qualification requirements within 30 days of the closing date of the announcement.
Provides direct supervision to the professional and non-professional nursing and Emergency Medical Support (EMS) staff. Performs nursing care duties as needed to maintain nursing skills and cover staffing shortages. Plans and adjusts work assignments and operations to meet organizational objectives, priorities, deadlines, and standards of care. Ensures that patient care standards are implemented and compliance measures are monitored and adhered to. Evaluates Staff training needs, performance and conduct.
