Job Description:

You will serve as a PROTOCOL OFFICER in the EXECUTIVE OFFICE of COMNAVSURFPAC. The Secretary of Defense has ordered a department-wide hiring freeze subject to certain limited exceptions. This position is subject to the DoD hiring freeze. Offers of employment related to this vacancy announcement will not be executed until the position has an approved exemption.
Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-12 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: Utilizing military protocol policies to perform event and program management involving the planning, coordination, or execution of high-level official visits, social functions, or complex symposiums for senior executives or dignitaries. You will provide a full scope of protocol services for military and civilian distinguished visitors.
You will advise on all levels of management and techniques used in developing strategies for use in a wide and diverse range of protocol functions.
You will develop budgets, execute events and maintain fiscally sound and audit ready records.
You will direct and facilitate arrangements for visitors to achieve the best ship, shore or area site visit by planning, coordinating and executing a myriad of activities to meet visit requirements.
You will develop and modify protocol policy, disseminate guidance and develop information for briefings and presentations on command issues, programs and events.
You will establish and maintain effective relationships and communications with representatives of national, international and local organizations.
You will coordinate with support staff to plan and execute ceremonies, events, programs and visits.
