To qualify for an Inventory Management Specialist, your resume and supporting documentation must support: A. Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience that equipped you with the particular competencies to successfully perform the duties of the position and is directly in or related to this position. To qualify at the GS-12 level, applicants must possess one year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-11 level or equivalent under other pay systems in the Federal service, military, or private sector. Applicants must meet eligibility requirements including time-in-grade (General Schedule (GS) positions only), time-after-competitive appointment, minimum qualifications, and any other regulatory requirements by the cut-off/closing date of the announcement. Creditable specialized experience includes: Analyzing and resolving difficult inventory management/supply planning issues and problems for highly complex/strategic items and unique end-item programs. Providing support in the development/execution of strategic supply management and procurement partnerships with vendors. Forecasting, researching, and analyzing various documents and statistics to synthesize plans for adjustments to supply planning programs. Engaging in the supply planning process to provide complex technical support to functional areas that are engaged in the full range of acquisition management and logistics support. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional, philanthropic, religious, spiritual, community, student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.
Serving as a member of a strategic supplier support relationship team, providing planning services for the assigned customer and/or category of items.
Developing plans for highly complex/critical items and groups of items that may require the creation and frequent use of strategic alliances, partnerships, prime vendors, and long-term contracts with multi-level contract options.
Providing, receiving, and analyzing Supplier Collaboration intelligence on DLA Direct and Customer Direct items to maximize efficiencies in meeting demands.
Coordinating and/or collaborating with high-level personnel to ensure both successful fielding and continued improvement for key DLA initiatives.
Conducting reviews on individual items with unique characteristics, strategic value, or complex problems.
Applying strategies for allocation and systemically generating the planned orders and planned arrivals.
Developing budgetary elements as required, reflecting expected and unexpected expenditures due to uniqueness of complex end-item programs.
