Job Description:
You will serve as Principal Technical Manager for the Airframe technologies and associated technologies in materials and structures in the Air Systems Group, Technical Director Office of NAVAIRWARCENAC DIV. The Secretary of Defense has ordered a department-wide hiring freeze subject to certain limited exceptions. This position is subject to the DoD hiring freeze. You will be the Navy technical expert, advisor, and national leader for Airframe technologies and associated technologies in materials and structures.
You will develop processes and innovative approaches with focus on integrating technologies into new and existing designs in the broad areas of Airframe technologies, DoD acquisition process, and airworthiness processes and standards.
You will provide senior technical consultation to program managers, PEOs, DARPA, NAVAIR/NAWC leadership, and academia, industry, and other Government organizations to support programs-of-record, in-service systems, and ongoing and emergent research.
You will serve as a leading technical expert in development, experimentation and evaluation of next-generation aircraft within NAWCAD and across DoN, DoD, and industry.
You will develop risk management alternatives and mitigation strategies and plans to ensure balance between technical requirements, and system maturity.
You will provide leadership for extremely complicated technical efforts for unproven technology insertion and engineering development programs.
You will influence the development, management, and implementation of new or revised techniques for applied development and evaluation by conducting uncharted and independent research, as well as stimulating and leading a full spectrum of SnT.
