To qualify for a Logistics Management Specialist, your resume and supporting documentation must support: Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience that equipped you with the particular competencies to successfully perform the duties of the position and is directly in or related to this position. To qualify at the GS-13 level, applicants must possess one year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-12 level or equivalent under other pay systems in the Federal service, military, or private sector. Applicants must meet eligibility requirements including time-in-grade (General Schedule (GS) positions only), time-after-competitive appointment, minimum qualifications, and any other regulatory requirements by the cut-off/closing date of the announcement. Creditable specialized experience includes: Using qualitative and quantitative methods for the assessment and improvement of methods used to gather, analyze, and evaluate information concerning management practices and principles. Understanding the relationship between Agency, Military Services, and Combatant Commands to take appropriate action for current operations. Communicating high level concepts related to the analysis of logistical operations in a clear, concise, and well-organized manner. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional, philanthropic, religious, spiritual, community, student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.
Serves as a Joint Operations Planner in the Agency Synchronization Operations Center (ASOC).
Conducts analysis of DLA worldwide customer support in peacetime and war environments, as well as impacts of agency operations and policies on that support.
Provides DLA leadership with analyses and actionable intelligence optimizing logistical support to the warfighter and ensuring DLA’s rapid response to DoD requirements.
Works closely with Major Subordinate and Regional Commands, and various internal and external stakeholders to brief and publish orders to the agency, to provide DLA Leadership with critical, detailed information.
Prepares and provides briefing updates to DLA senior leadership as a conduit of information on critical warfighter requirements.
Collects and evaluates exercise and contingency operations examples to use as a basis for improving and revising agency doctrine, directives, instructions, or Support Plans.
Ensures future warfighter requirements are channeled to the correct DLA Major Subordinate and Regional Commands for integration into future sustainment operations.
