About the Position: Camp Pendleton is a large US Naval medical treatment facility in Oceanside, California, part of the United States Military Health System. Located on Camp Pendleton in Camp Pendleton South, California, San Diego County. This position is with the Directorate Clinical Support Inpatient Pharmacy. This is a Direct Hire Solicitation.

Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes filling prescriptions, distributing pharmaceuticals, and utilizing pharmacy-based computer systems gained in hospital pharmacies, retail pharmacies, or in pharmaceutical firms or laboratories. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-05). OR Education: A half year (i.e., 9 semester hours) of graduate level education in a field directly related to the work of the position, such as Pharmacology or a related field of study. OR Combination of Education and Experience: A combination of education and experience may be used to qualify for this position as long as the computed percentage of the requirements is at least 100%. To compute the percentage of the requirements, divide your total months of experience by 12. Then divide the total number of completed graduate semester hours (or equivalent) by 9. Add the two percentages.
Process medication orders by using computerized order entry in and extraction of pertinent drug data from patient charts and/ or through patient interview.
Identify situations independently and adjusts accordingly for final screening by Pharmacist.
Prepare, stores, and issues sterile and non-sterile drug preparations following established guidelines.
Use computer system for data collections and monitoring to include individualized medication profiles, prescription fill data, provide medical information, and identify potential drug interactions and substitutions or generic drug replacement.
Ensure proper storage conditions and may assist supply activities.
