To qualify for a GW-06 You must meet the following: 1). One (1) year of specialized work experience equivalent to the GS-05 level duties. Examples of specialized work experience include: Performing administrative duties in an office such as preparing reports, spreadsheets, databases, manuals, and other documents using office computer software applications; managing records and maintaining a filing system; managing time and attendance in an automated payroll system; assisting employees with travel arrangements; processing various monetary transactions in the automated financial system; and performing file and document audits related to time, travel, and financials. You must meet all qualification requirements by the closing date of the announcement. Physical Demands: The work is typically sedentary. Some work may require periods of walking, standing, bending, or driving a motor vehicle. The incumbent may frequently lift relatively light boxes, materials, and supplies and/or carry file folders, copied materials, books, and other similar materials. Work Environment: Work is typically located in an adequately lighted, heated, and ventilated office environment. The work environment may involve everyday risks or discomforts that require normal safety precautions typical of such places as offices, mail distribution centers, meeting and training rooms, libraries, or motor vehicles.
The Bureau of Land Management (BLM) is looking for temporary employees to work as an Administrative Support Assistant in Worland, WY. An Administrative Support Assistant (GS-06) maintains files and completed training records in order to be able to run reports and perform administrative transactions in various resource specific systems and databases. May schedule and dispatch motor vehicles and monitor the overall status of the fleet to include vehicle repairs, inspections, and maintenance as needed. Purchases supplies and equipment using simplified acquisition procedures through the DOI integrated charge card program. Maintains receipts, verifies transactions, and reconciles charge card statements for submission to the BLM Agency/Organization Program Coordinator (A/OPC). Processes various transactions such as obligations, collections, distributions, reconciliations, etc. in the automated financial system. Provides one-on-one training on a wide variety of administrative procedures and practices. Occasionally assists in auditing incident time for equipment and personnel. Prepares travel documents (authorizations and vouchers) in an automated travel system. Reviews travel authorizations and vouchers in accordance with bureau and fire policy. May assist in resolving travel related issues. Enters and/or validates time and attendance records within the automated payroll system. Audits time and attendance records for correctness and ensures incident time aligns with fire policy. Ensures proper fire time documentation is received, accurate, and kept on file. May assist in resolving payroll related issues. Serves as a principle point of contact on specific technical aspects, policy, or programs related to office administration.
