MINIMUM QUALIFICATION CRITERIA Work experience performing duties as described above. Must be able to obtain a DOD Pest Management Certificate. Working knowledge of chemicals used on insects and for weeds and brush control. **Resume MUST clearly reflect the knowledge and experience listed under the minimum qualifications criteria above. HIGH QUALIFICATION CRITERIA: Must have at least 3 years of experience as a golf course superintendent working with warm-season grasses, or must have proven success as an Assistant Superintendent. Required: Membership in the Golf Course Superintendent's Association of America (GCSAA) at the Superintendent Member (SM) level or higher, or the ability to obtain this membership within two years of employment. Minimum of a 2-year degree or higher in Turf-grass Management, Agriculture, Horticulture, or Business Administration. Must be able to demonstrate practical knowledge and hands-on experience in pesticide mixing and application, irrigation systems maintenance and operation, and turf equipment maintenance and repair. **Resume MUST clearly reflect the knowledge and experience listed under minimum qualifications and highly qualifying criteria listed above. Candidates who possess both the minimum and the highly qualifying criteria will be considered first.
Incumbent is responsible for the maintenance, repair, and condition of the entire playing area of the golf course.
Directs and supervises subordinate employees in phases of course maintenance, including mowing, fertilizing, and maintaining tees, fairways, greens, and roughs.
Supervises the cleaning, painting, and general repair of buildings.
Supervises the repair of fences, bridges, and shelters directly affecting golf play.
Supervises the completion of general landscaping projects.
