Other Duties/ Responsibilities Required to be available at all times for sudden recall in response to emergency events affecting the Senate campus/community and deployment to alternate locations for up to 30 days, as necessary. Required Work Experience 5-8 years of experience in Security, Emergency Management and/ or continuity. Required Special Skills/ Knowledge As part of our hiring process, we may conduct a skills assessment to better understand an applicant’s proficiency in key areas relevant to the role. Knowledge of principles, theories, methods, and practices of project management including budgeting, scheduling, staffing, risk management and requirements analysis. Ability to develop and implement both short and long-range project plans. Ability to complete projects on time and within budget. Ability to conduct research and prepare analytic reports. Ability to analyze complex issues and make recommendations for action. Ability to communicate effectively. Microsoft Office suite utilization. Desired Qualifications Employ project management skills to successfully design and execute continuity tests, training and exercises. Plan, direct, and execute continuity test, training, and exercises to include supporting materials, plans of action and milestones, recommendations, agreements, and other deliverables. Use strong presentation and problem-solving skills to deliver and facilitate discussions on complex issues. Identify issues, develop solutions, recommend courses of action, and advocate for corrective actions. Develop and present exercise deliverables, including briefings and reports to stakeholder groups. Coordinate with stakeholders and other relevant entities to ensure all equities are addressed and included in the design of assigned exercises. Working Conditions Since this position requires onsite presence in support of the U.S. Senate when in session, this position requires the employee to be available and prepared to work during government shutdowns, in inclement weather, on holidays, and during late night, overnight, and weekend sessions. In the context of government furloughs, this position is considered excepted. This position directly supports essential services of the U.S. Senate. As such, this position requires the employee be available and prepared to work during government shutdowns, in inclement weather, on holidays, weekends, and during late nights to ensure essential services to the Senate continue without interruption. Security Clearance This position requires that the applicant obtain and maintain a Top Secret U.S. Government security clearance. Applicants must be U.S. citizens in order for the SAA to submit your application for a security clearance.
Applies general program management practices and principals. Acts as the lead point of contact and subject matter expert for assigned programs. Plans, directs, and executes programs to include developing supporting materials, policies, procedures, agreements, and other programmatic materials and publications. Identifies issues, develops solutions, and advocates for corrective actions to ensure sound program management. Develops and presents various publications including briefings and reports to various audiences. Coordinates with stakeholders and other relevant entities. Provides customer-focused care to the Senate community on matters related to their respective areas of responsibility. Other duties, as assigned.
