About the Position: This position is located at Fort Leonard Wood, Missouri. This is a Direct Hire Solicitation. A recruitment or relocation incentive may be authorized. Salary negotiation may be available for those candidates who are new to Federal service.

You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Your resume must clearly describe your relevant experience; if qualifying based on education, your transcripts will be required as part of your application. Basic Requirement for Counseling Psychologist (Professional Counselor): Degree: Two full academic years of graduate study directly related to professional work in counseling psychology, or a master's degree directly related to counseling psychology. In addition to meeting the basic requirement above, to qualify for this position you must also meet the qualification requirements listed below: Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes providing evaluation and/or assessment of patients with behavioral health issues; developing behavioral health treatment plans; and conducting individual and/or group counseling. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service GS-11 or above. Some federal jobs allow you to substitute your education for the required experience in order to qualify. For this job, you must meet the qualification requirement using experience alone--no substitution of education for experience is permitted. Licensure: Preferred, but not required
Conduct evaluations of Active Duty Service Members (ADSM), family members, retirees, and eligible Federal civilian employees referred for consultation.
Counsel patients on primary and secondary illnesses.
Apply complex behavioral health principles to conduct comprehensive behavioral health evaluations.
Prepare written findings and diagnoses in a detailed, clear, and concise manner.
Conduct ongoing review of patient progress; evaluate and modify treatment plans to meet changing needs.
Provide individual, group, and family psychotherapy.
Provide prevention counseling.
Provide crisis intervention counseling.
Perform other duties as assigned.
