Become part of the team that safeguards the financial system from the abuses of financial crime. At the Financial Crimes Enforcement Network (FinCEN), we are at the forefront in preventing and detecting terrorist financing, money laundering, and other financial crime. Serve at the nation's financial intelligence unit and protect the United States financial system from criminals and terrorist financiers.
You must meet the following requirements by the closing date of this announcement. For the GS-15, you must have one year of specialized experience at a level of difficulty and responsibility equivalent to the GS-14 grade level in the Federal service. Specialized experience for this position includes: Providing direction and control over Financial Management operations such as accounting, budgeting, forecasting, and financial reporting; AND Advising senior management on financial, budget and resource management program matters; AND Developing guidelines or policy related to financial management operations. The experience may have been gained in either the public, private sector or volunteer service. One year of experience refers to full-time work; part-time work is considered on a prorated basis. This position is located in our Management Division. As a Financial Manager, you will: Develop, or direct the development of a comprehensive, integrated budget that supports FinCEN programs, projects, or other initiatives. Provide appropriate budget guidance, assistance, and information to senior managers, bureau specialists, MD staff, and FinCEN organizations. Ensure that the FinCEN complies with budgetary requirements issued by OMB, GAO, and other Federal entities. Provide support to senior managers in the presentation and defense of this budget to decisionmakers within and outside of Treasury and exercises control over obligation and expenditure of funds.
