You must meet the following requirements by the closing date of this announcement. Specialized Experience: For the GS-14 grade level, you must have one year (52 full weeks) of specialized experience at a level of difficulty and responsibility equivalent to the GS-13 grade level in the Federal service. Specialized Experience for this position includes: Providing close personal protection to a high-level designated official; AND Leading a team of physical security specialists responsible for executive protection operations; AND Coordinating and conducting threat and advance site security assessments in collaboration with local, state, and federal law enforcement agencies. Experience may have been gained in either the public, private sector or volunteer service. One year of experience refers to full-time work; part-time work is considered on a prorated basis. As a/an Supervisory Physical Security Specialist (Law Enforcement), you will: Serve as the technical expert on executive protection and ultimate safety and security of the Secretary and Deputy Secretary of Housing and Urban Development, visiting dignitaries, or others designated by the Secretary on short notice. Oversee the coordination of investigations of actual or alleged threats against the Secretary, Deputy Secretary, and other Secretarial Officers within the Department of Housing and Urban Development and make recommendation as to the threat and danger level posed by those threats. Ensure the Department's executive protection program is maintained and updated as necessary and ensure appropriate contingency measures are instituted and maintained in its current state. Ensure appropriate HUD management officials and executives are kept fully apprised of this program. Oversee and coordinate the Protective Services detail in conducting advance protection surveys for individuals who, because of their position, are vital to the continuity of U.S. Government and to national security.
