Job Description:

This position is located in the Department of Health & Human Services (HHS), Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS), Office of Program Operations and Local Engagement (OPOLE), Local Engagement & Administration (LEA) . As a Regional Administrator, GS-0340-15, you will serve as the senior CMS official in the Regional Office responsible for leading and coordinating local external engagement efforts with all stakeholders and customers.

In order to qualify for the GS-15, you must meet the following: You must demonstrate in your resume at least one year (52 weeks) of qualifying specialized experience equivalent to the GS-14 grade level in the Federal government, obtained in either the private or public sector, to include: 1) Manage or direct staff in the areas of administrative or operational support services for an organization. 2) Plan, organize, or direct outreach activities (i.e., public and provider education, conferences, speeches and trainings); and 3) Direct or lead activities to gather and analyze stakeholder feedback, environmental scans, or market trends from a variety of sources to inform an organization's policies or operations. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community, student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Direct the work of a team of multi-disciplinary professionals with backgrounds in disciplines like public health, medical billing, health information technology (IT), professional relations, marketing, communications, and data analytics.
Provide direction to implement and evaluate local outreach and education that informs the public about CMS programs.
Serve as CMS' primary official in a regional area (typically composed of several states) for requests for information, speaking requests, educational briefings, and media interviews.
Develop and foster collaborative partnerships with stakeholders in order to amplify CMS messaging to the public.
