To be considered for the position, you must meet the following qualification requirements: Education There is no substitution of education for specialized experience for this position. OR Experience You must have at least one year of specialized experience equivalent in difficulty and complexity to the next lower grade level. To be creditable, this experience must have equipped the applicant with the particular qualifications to perform successfully the duties of the position, and must typically be in or related to the position to be filled. Some examples of this qualifying experience are: Experience in effectively supervising all disciplines inherent on the total farm operation. Experience in providing technical advice and assistance to Executive staff to determine marketing programs. Experience with animal nutrition, reproduction, herd health, food science, soil science, plant science and parasitology. If applicable, credit will be given for paid and unpaid experience. Serves as the Farm Manager for the farm system located at the Federal Correctional Institution (FCI), El Reno, Oklahoma, and Federal Correctional Complex (FCC), Lompoc California. Responsible for the management of all phases of the farm and beef operation. Plan, organizes, and coordinates all activities necessary for maximum production of raw goods into finished products at the lowest possible cost to consumers. Serves as the technical authority on farm operations, providing assistance and input to Central Office for the development and revision of administrative policies and/or essential programs. Oversees long-range planning to ensure production goals and demand for supply is met. Provides technical advice and assistance to Executive Staff at the institutional, regional, and central office level in determining marketing programs that are competitive with commercial suppliers and includes development of product lines, product pricing, and distribution. Along with all other correctional institution employees, incumbent is charged with responsibility for maintaining security of the institution. The staff correctional responsibilities precede all others required by this position and are performed on a regular and recurring basis.
