One year of specialized experience equivalent in level of difficulty and responsibility to that of the next lower grade (GS-07) within the federal service, which demonstrates the ability to perform the duties of the position, is required. Specialized experience is defined as: Applying administrative principles and practices to perform administrative support activities and providing guidance to others on administrative matters. Examples of qualifying experience may include: Tracking and managing project or task deadlines Preparing reports or presentations that analyze data and present findings to stakeholders Utilizing a variety of office automation software to create documents, spreadsheets, and presentations Providing guidance on administrative and agency policies and procedures, ensuring compliance and efficiency Reviewing correspondence to ensure accuracy and adherence to established standards, and initiating appropriate follow-up actions OR Conducting studies or analyses of administrative operations to identify areas for improvement and recommend solutions Time-in-Grade: Current or former federal employees who have held a GS position in the preceding 52 weeks, must meet the time in grade requirement. Applicant must have served 52 weeks as a GS-07 or higher grade in Federal Service. You may qualify for consideration if meeting time-in grade, specialized experience, education requirement, 90 days after competitive appointment requirement, and all other qualification requirements within 30 calendar days after the closing date of the announcement, unless otherwise indicated on the announcement.
Conducts management studies and works individual projects related to the mission, functions, manpower, administrative operations and processes of the Executive Support Office.
Prepares and assembles a variety of recurring and special reports reflecting the DFAS mission and technical information.
Utilizes a variety of automated processing software packages such as Microsoft Word, Power Point, Excel, etc., to develop, analyze and present statistical data.
Performs administrative duties to control and provide substantive advice on suspense for staff action/correspondence, maintain records, orders and control of supplies/equipment and prepare briefings and presentations for the Executive Support Office.
Studies, analyzes, and evaluates various administrative regulations, procedures, and policy directives to determine applicability of current guidance.
