Job Description:

You will serve as the Branch Head for the Environmental and Safety Branches (Codes 1023 & 1024); Infrastructure Division; Corporate Operations Department of NAVSURFWARCENDLD. You will oversee the Command Environmental Lead and Command Safety Manager. This position is part of the Warfare Centers Personnel Demonstration Project. ND-05 is equivalent to GS-14/15.
Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the ND-04 (GS-12/13 equivalent) pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector as a professional engineer or scientist overseeing, coordinating, or evaluating an environmental compliance program to ensure that an organization adheres to all applicable environmental laws, rules, and regulations. You will oversee the Command Environmental Lead and Command Safety Manager, and as such will be the principal advisor to Command on all safety and environmental compliance matters related to the mission of NSWCDD.
You will apply significant scientific or engineering knowledge and operations to ensure mission readiness and statutory/regulatory compliance.
You will plan, develop, and implement environmental and safety policies and procedures for the Division.
You will provide consultation and recommendations for strategies and practices that mitigate or limit environmental and safety concerns and risks.
