About the Position: This is Engineering Technician (Mechanical), non-supervisory GS-12 position with the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, Tulsa District, Construction Division in Military Programs Area Office. This vacancy is located at Fort Sill OK.

Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes two out of three duties as follow: (1) reviewing contract plans and specifications for conformance with engineering/technical requirements and administrative guidance; or (2) evaluating contractor proposals on basis of cost and time impacts; or (3) assisting with inspection of mechanical or Fire Suppression/Fire Alarm features of construction projects at site for contract compliance.This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-11). Note: Some federal jobs allow you to substitute your education for the required experience in order to qualify. For this job, you must meet the qualification requirement using experience alone--no substitution of education for experience is permitted. Time in Grade Requirement: Applicants who have held a General Schedule (GS) position within the last 52 weeks must have 52 weeks of Federal service at the next lower grade or equivalent (GS-11).
You will have primary duties relating to installation and testing of mechanical and fire systems and equipment under military and/or civil contracts.
You will review plans and specifications.
You will assist with negotiations with contractors.
You will Inspect, test, and advise on the contractor's installation of all types of mechanical and fire systems.
You will Investigate and document mechanical failures which include providing recommendation to resolve issue.
You will prepare special technical reports on the modification of mechanical and fire system components.
