Job Description:

You will serve as a FINANCIAL MANAGEMENT ANALYST in the FLEET COMPTROLLER of COMMANDER US PACIFIC FLEET. Salary Range: GS-13: $110,020 - $143,027 GS-12: $92,520 - $120,282 The Secretary of Defense has ordered a department-wide hiring freeze subject to certain limited exceptions. This position is subject to the DoD hiring freeze. Offers of employment related to this vacancy announcement will not be executed until the position has an approved exemption.
GS-13: Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-12 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector: Reviewing financial transactions to ensure compliance with applicable regulations, policies and laws, providing financial management expertise, leadership, and technical advice, and making recommendations on improving the effectiveness and efficiency of financial operations. GS-12: Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-11 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector: Reviewing financial transactions to ensure compliance with applicable regulations, policies and laws, providing financial management expertise, leadership, and technical advice. You will perform or advise on work in any of the phases or systems of budget administration.
You will formulate budget and estimates to support plans, programs, and activities, including presenting and defending budget estimates before authorities.
You will review and evaluate budget requests.
You will analyze and recommend costs and benefits of alternative methods of financial management of the organization’s programs and administrative operations.
You will implement legal and regulatory controls over approved budgets.
You will implement internal controls and provide advice on effective and efficient methods for the acquisition and use of funds to support the organization’s programs and activities.
You will collect and prioritize cash requirements while operating under a Continuing Resolution.
